Nah, the funny thing about 'em is that they'll use it whether or not it'll even do anything. I've had lone riposte noobs use it when I'm hexing them. I guess they think they'll deflect SS and hit me for 80 damage or something. Which is almost as bad as the idiots who run into combat and the first thing they use is Endure Pain.

Assassins in AB probably pick their elites off of a dartboard.

ROFL! Thanks for making me laugh, having a rather stressful day at work

for the record, always remember that there is always the exception. My favorite char is Elementalist, but I also use an assassin sometimes when I get bored. I don't use AoD, I find it rather annoying that you have to have the target at the edge of your aggro circle to cast, which makes the original position within range of casters and rangers. That alone makes it a bit useless if you're trying to cap, its only going to work if the target draws you away from original position.

I'd own you 1v1 any day with my wammo! Healing hands+endure pain+riposte = unstoppable.

My rit often has a blast capping shrines on her own when the rest of our team is out fighting the Kurzick Mob....sometimes a sin spots me running towards a shrine to cap it all on my own and decides he can take me....I, on the other hand, usually always carry Kuurong's Ashes so it's GG Mr. Sin. I couldn't withstand a mob mind you, closest I ever got is defeating a troop of minions...but I'm sure a build to deal with all 3 is out there.

I'm not the sort of person who engages in 1 v 1 fights unless, like I said, someone thinks they can take me while I'm out on my own and vulnerable. Once I noticed two wammos were getting ready to 1 V 1 fight, so, ever-so-naughtily, I stood just in range of our wammo and cast weapon spells on him to make sure he won...the enemy wammo wasn't very pleased.

When im on my monk in Abs i generally avoid being on my own since i cant really do much damage. I often get a sin or warrior who thinks its a good idea to attack me while im on my own looking for allys to join up with. I find they hate Pacifism with a fiery passion

I don't see how AoD is the "new cookie cutter elite". Geez I was using that in the BETA weekend.

I love killing assassins in AB. Making them randomly self-destruct in a mob is fun, having them "solo" you is the best. It's amazing how many sins will do that over and over and over in the same match.

Our team was against a Kurzick team which had 4 monks, and we didn't have enough counters, so taking down Gunther and his buddies was quite hard... of course, when some people face this kind of adversity, what will they do?

Red guy says monks are noobs and YES! yellow guy wants 1vs1. Blue guy was an assassin who didn't seem to do much, so I commented that he really should thank his healers, who were too busy healing to cuss the opponent team...

Sorry SR, but i gotta disagree with you there after seeing a E/A with a full set of dagger techs in RA.

But yea, AB is for the casual PvPer. May have it's idiots but it's a fun arena.

I run my Totem Axe in AB whenever I go fire, mostly because I have no real decent fire gear and I'm too lazy to roll out an ele for it . I wish I got a dollar for everytime I had insidious parasite cast on me by a necro.

Anyways...

Y'all ever had those no direct damage players challenge you to 1v1? They throw things like SS, Insidious, Price of Failure, Reckless Haste, Empathy, etc etc. /wave and move on with your life.

Just on a side note, I had someone on my team in AB flaming our team to hell about how much we all suck in the All channel. I told him to shut it, its just a game after all, we're here to have fun. Once the AB was over, this sparked a lengthy whispered conversation, which at some points involved him putting me on ignore list and telling me I should die. And after it was all said and done, how he proved me I was a noob by telling me of his 10 years of MMORPG experience, of his legendary status in DnD for team play, how he was better than me because he played MMORPG's that weren't free, and how he was a Beta Tester for this and that and the other...he challenged me to a 1v1. When I didn't accept, I was a noob and a sissy and afraid to fight him because I knew I would lose...

This is what I get because I don't one on one some AB'r.

But lately I've noticed a decrease in the amount of people trying to one on one. They are still there though and usually suck. I was in AB once and this sin ganked me when I was trying to cap by myself (team wasn't capping) and he says, "I win, haha n00b," so I reply, "What did you win?" He had no response.

It's funny how people think just because they kill you on a one on one they are the best player ever.

It took a mob of around 6-7 people nearly a minute to kill me once as I was tanking them while we got 5 of the 7 points capped, and they were so happy to kill me that they were saying how great they are...

It's amazing how stupid people are >.>

I wouldn't feel so bad, this guy is the proverbial geek. But with a twist, because he's probably overcompensating for something. Not to mention, he's been playing MMORPGs (plural) how much of his time do you think he spends away from the computer while awake? most likely 1-2 hours (and that would be to eat, or go to the bathroom) Heck he's probably got a potty build into his chair.

I ran across these 1v1 jerks recently in AB.

Holy hell these guys are INSANELY FUN TO MESS WITH, in a sinister way.

First of all, the Toucher

He didn't seem too happy with the snare + degen my ranger was giving him and started screaming OMFG U NOOB STOP RUNNING (Like Kiting is a huge crime). Eventually a team mate came along and smacked him ONCE with a wand bolt and I get tons of screaming OMFG 1v1 ME I'LL END U and stuff like that. I sent him on wild goose chases to places that were being mobbed, great stuff.

Then we have the cookie cutter sins...

I kited one around with the usual poison bleeding cripple degen combo after messing up his own combo, but by then I was hurting bad. So he chases with 1 or 2 of his team coming up. I attempt to pin him down again but blurred vision goes up from his team mate, I attempt to run and get ice snared, the sin kills me and screams "NOOB KITING". A bit of goading to him and he's screaming for 1v1 again, I do the usual wild goose chase.

EXPLOIT THEIR LUST FOR 1v1! It's *REALLY* fun.
